Bridle

Privacy

Bridle doesn't collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your routes, rides and photos stay on your phone and in your own iCloud.

What stays on your device

  • Location. Used to show where you are, guide you along a route and record rides. Rides are saved on your iPhone.
  • Routes, rides and photos. Saved on your iPhone. If iCloud is on, they sync through your own private iCloud database, which only you can read. We can't see it.
  • Health. With an Apple Watch, a ride runs as a horse-riding workout. Bridle reads your heart rate to show it during the ride and saves the workout in the Health app. Health data is never sent anywhere by Bridle.
  • Motion. Used on your iPhone for optional fall detection during a ride.
  • Emergency contact. Saved on your iPhone. If a fall is detected, Bridle prepares a message; nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
  • Camera. Photos you take during a ride are saved with the ride.

Services Bridle talks to

To work, Bridle sends a minimum of information to these services. None of it includes your name or an account, and Bridle does not send it to us.

  • Bridle's website (bridle.steenbakkers.cc) provides the route planner's map data, downloaded per area. Routes themselves are planned on your phone.
  • Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) receives the approximate location of a route, to show the weather for your ride.
  • OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org) provides the map, and PDOK (pdok.nl, the Dutch government) the satellite photos. Like any map, they receive requests for the area you're looking at.
  • Apple provides map previews, place names and iCloud, under Apple's privacy policy.

Sharing

When you share a route or a ride card, you choose the app and the people. Bridle only creates the file or picture.

Children

Bridle isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Questions about privacy: bridle@steenbakkers.cc

In short: Bridle collects no data about you. Last updated 16 October 2026.

Privacy

Diensten waar Bridle mee praat
